My favorite use for vinegar? I pour it in during the rinse cycle when washing my whites. I love my Suavitel, but when you use fabric softener on whites, it hampers their absorbency. Vinegar keeps things soft, and doesn’t stop that dish cloth from soaking up the spills my 5-year-old indulges in daily.
In correlation to the dentures, soaking a retainer in vinegar is absolutely amazing. My retainer had thick white plaque that no matter how much I scrubbed would not come off.
I soaked it in vinegar for a night and it was completely clean the next day!
My favourite: cleaning the floors. I have pets and don’t like the idea of cleaning with commercial detergents and then them walking on the floors and then licking their paws and ingesting it. Ew! I clean the floors with an equal water/vinegar mix. They’re clean and shiny, and I don’t have to worry about my pets getting sick. The vinegar smell evaporates within a few minutes, too.
wow i didn\’t know there are so many uses for vinegar! i reallyhave to print this article! thanks mate!
Apple cider vinegar is also a great toner for your face after it is clean.
It also makes a great grout cleaner
Vinegar in your kettle with water, boiled, let sit overnight, rince and it looks new again.
I would not call vinegar a car polish. Car Polishes leave protective coat / wax on the car. It is a more of a car soap. You should polish/wax your car after washing it; to help protect from rust. Car washes now spray a wax on the cars as a last step it is usually, cost etra but I recoment it.
I bought a truck that had the vinyl lettering on it etc, it was a business truck that I wanted to remove the lettering. Well did so with a heat gun but the outline of the lettering remained. I cleaned the thing down with mineral spirits and still you could see the outline, but when I wiped the whole thing down with full strength vinegar, wala all gone, but I did wax afterwards, truck looked brand new.
Got a floating floor that is high maintenance and hard to find something that cleans them without streaks? Try a mixture of 3/4 white vinegar, about a 1/4 of rubbing alcohol, and just a teaspoon of dish soap, to a gallon jug, guaranteed the floor will be streak free and look brand spanking new.
Yo. # 9, car polish shows a car being sanded, not polished. damn.
Great for descaling taps, just fill a polythene bag and tie it over the tap. Leave over night, rince off in the morning!
Was used from homes, coffee shops/deli, back in 60’s.
In the sink full of water and part vinegar
soak for pre-wash of water glasses mainly,
that was coming after wash,
odorless spotless and sparkling shiny.
Wow this is very helpful; I didn’t know you could use vinegar for so many things. I’ll have to try it on my clothes to remove deodorant stains or the next time I get a sore throat.
It’s great for trapping pesky gnats, especially in the kitchen. Pour a small amount of apple cider vinegar in a glass container, cover with plastic wrap or baggie, secure this with a rubber band and poke holes (ice or tooth picks are good). The gnats fly in and can’t get out. I empty it out every 2-3 days and start over. It’s amazing the number of gnats that get trapped.
