One thing I use duct tape for is when I have to paint the interior of my home.
I hate it when I put on a new paint roller, and start painting the wall. What happens is that seeing the paint roller is new, there are many loose fibers of roller hair that end up getting mixed with the paint, and those fibers end up on the freshly painted wall or ceiling, which of course you remove from the wall, and have to roll over the area again, only to have more of the nasty roller fuzz end up on the wall or ceiling.
Solution : Cut strips of duct tape the length of the new paint roller before adding paint. Surround the roller completely with the duct tape, then remove the duct tape. You will see that all the loose fuzz is now stuck to the sticky side of the tape, and your roller is as clean as can be, which makes for a very smooth and professional paint job on your walls, saving you time and frustration. On cheaper rollers, you may have to do the above mentioned a couple of times before getting a lint or fuzz free roller.
