Creative Ways to Kill Boredom
by Paul - All Posts By This Author

Being sedentary for long periods can affect your mood for the entire day. You’ll lose your mood to do anything, which may later lead to you feeling miserable. Before boredom entraps you like a prison cell, you must find ways to stimulate your mood, making you more active physically and mentally. Break a few norms, think out of the box, and engage the simple interests that define you as an individual. You can, then, break out of a boring spell anytime you choose.
Ride Random Buses
Getting tired of what the city has to offer? Why not travel to other areas, which have fresh sites to see and venues to enjoy? To up the ante of your adventure, don’t plan a destination. Just ride the third or fifth bus that passes by then go down when you feel like going down. You can bring a few clothes and some pocket money to last you for about three days. Tour the city, make friends, and see the popular sites. Before your trip is over, you may want to ride another random bus en route to another random vacation.
A Bottle of Alcohol Washes Away Boredom
Instead of mulling over boredom, you can drink liquor or beer while listening to your favorite music. Set an endearing playlist on your stereo or computer. If you’re feeling a little creative, arrange your home to match the theme exuded by the music. Once you hit the “Play” button, start consuming your alcohol. You’ll feel alive right after. You may even invite a bored good looking friend if you’re looking for more action.

Engage Your Simple Interests
Every person, even bored ones, has at least one preoccupation. Of course, any prevalent thought or emotion, through creativity, can be transformed into a work of art. Grab your art materials, your journal, or origami paper and engage your preferred art form (Learn how to make origami flowers). Focus on your preccupation, dissecting it until you come up with a resolution. Now apply the entire thought process into your work. You’ll certainly be proud of your creation.
Date Around
Doing intimate things with a gorgeous partner is arguably the best way to kill boredom. For extroverts, head to the bar or coffee shop then drop your subtly sexy moves, such as making eye contact, the fleeting smile, and the killer opening. Introverts, on the other hand, can logon to their Facebook or Myspace accounts. They can sneak witty yet naughty comments on the pages of hotties until they can bag a date. The meet up will then be easy right after.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
Things and places pertaining to a person’s youth is always appreciated, which makes boredom pretty much a non-factor. Go to your old high school or college campus and stay at your former hangout spots. Bring your old boardgames and play with some of your old buddies (see Top ten board games for a fun saturday night). You’ll then remember the exuberance of your youth, which will lead to more than a few blissful recollections. In the end, you and your old friends will be closer, just like the good old days. Perhaps some of them may even present business opportunities just because of your nostalgic trip. Who knows?
As the saying goes, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” Fill that “workshop” with creativity, spunk, and ounce of imagination. Boredom will soon be as insignificant as dusty furniture.
* Why don’t you learn how to play the trumpet or know how to dance the salsa, these are just some ways to kill boredom.
